whenever I rewatch kill la kill my takeaway is that I need to become more shameless which regardless of what you think of it is 100% its intention
yeah it's like people forget it can be two things at once. Like yeah its raunchy and goofy cause its made by and for perverts but it still does a good job with the clothes and uniforms as a metaphor for fascism. Like its not a super deep feminist show or anything but it does have something worthwhile to say.
Also more recently I've thought about ryuko and her initial arc of accepting senketsu kinda representing the fools of errand of thinking you can escape totalitarianism while continuing to oppose and reject the "freak shit" and you cant truly move forward until you start realizing it doesn't matter.
